Michigan Assistive Technology Loan Fund The Michigan Assistive Technology Loan Fund allows people with disabilities and seniors (or their family members) to purchase assistive technology devices or services, including modification of vehicles and homes. Loans may also cover cost of training to use the purchased equipment, warranties, and service agreements. This site has a lot of helpful links and FAQs about how to get funding for AT.
The Ann Arbor CIL is one of 600 CIL's around the world. The center improves the lives of individuals with disabilities through individualized counseling, advocacy efforts, skill-building classes, recreation and arts programming, and more. They impact the lives of over 4,000 individuals annually.

Since 2000, The US Department of Education has been offering AFP's (Alternative Financing Programs) to each of the 50 states. These programs include the Assistive Technology Loan Program and the Access to Telework Loans.
IDEA says that the district is obligated to provide AT as part of FAPE if it is part of the student's educational program and specified in the student's IEP. Click on the link to the left to learn more about IDEA 2004 and FAPE.
The mission of the Michigan Employment Loan Fund is to reduce or eliminate barriers to employment through low-interest loans.
Financial loans can be used to buy employment-related equipment and training to use the equipment. Potential borrowers represent those interested in self-employment, those needing assistive devices to maintain, increase, or enhance employment, and those who require equipment to engage in telecommuting employment arrangements with an employer.

Fundsnet provides information on grants in a variety of areas including technology, disability and education.
Gifts in Kind is the world leader in product philanthropy. There is an annual registration fee to participate and shipping and handling fees must be covered by the recipient. Some of the participating companies include Adobe, IBM, Microsoft, Dell (printers), Office Depot. In some cases, recipients may need to meet certain eligibility requirements.
Infinitec Inc. is a U.S. non-profit corporation formed to help people with disabilities and their families access life-enhancing technology. This section of their website focuses on funding of assistive technology through insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, schools as well as other funding information resources.
